Nutrition Month

The theme for 2019’s Nutrition Month is, “Kumain ng Wasto, Maging Aktibo, Push Natin ‘to.” Nutrition month is one of the best way to prevent our bad eating habits, to loosen our eating of junk foods and drinking soft drinks for a while. Nutrition month is celebrated annually during the 7th month of our calendar. Here in Ilocos Sur National High School, nutrition month was celebrated by food fest and nutri-jingle.

Foods are very important to us. Foods made up most of our energy, especially eating healthy foods that give us vitamins A-zinc. Eating healthy foods prevent us in having diseases like diabetes, obesity, cancer, and more. Without foods, we’re not be able to live longer, and also water. Eating healthy foods make us live longer, as they say “kumain ng gulay para humaba ang buhay”. “Our health is our wealth,” we only live once so let’s treasure our lives. Eating unhealthy foods may satisfy us but it also made us suffer from disease that it may give us. In eating, you must know all the consequences of it, if it benefits you good or it may benefit you bad. In eating healthy foods, we also have to exercise. Proper diet must deal with daily exercises in order to do activities and makes us physically fit. Some examples of unhealthy foods that we need to prevent are: ice cream, burgers, junk foods, soft drinks, fries, fried chicken, instant foods, fast foods, frozen foods.

Nutrition month is important to us to have a break in eating unhealthy foods.

NATIONAL SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL

Having an earthquake drill program is very important and useful because it is also for our sake. To know or to enlighten us to know what to do if there’s an earthquake. Earthquake drill prepare us when there’s an earthquake.

Here in the Philippines, it is a tradition or annually events that they were conducting the earthquake drill. I’m glad that they implemented this activity for everyone. We Filipinos are very active in preparing ourselves to every disaster that may come and test our strengths and our strong faith in God. Earthquake is everyone’s antagonist that can’t control, but we can prepare of.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

On June 12, 2019, we Filipinos are celebrating our 121st Celebration of Independence Day.  We first celebrate our independence, year 1898. June 12 is the witness that our president, Emilio Aguinaldo, announced our independence, the day we are free from conquerors.

We are celebrating our independence day yearly, in remembering our heroic Filipinos who fought for our independence. It is also a way to honor our rulers and our Filipino heroes who sacrificed their lives for our country and for us fellow Filipinos. We celebrate independence as a respect and also treasuring the day we finally achieved our independence.

What I like about celebrating independence, except from having a holidays during school days, I like the way we celebrate our independence because we are being proud and grateful of our country by displaying our Philippine flags anywhere. I’m very thankful because we have some brave heroes to fought for our country and sacrifice their lives for us.

Getting to know more about me

Hi! I'm Danica Joy Baldinar, you can call me Joy or Danica. I'm currently 15 years old. I was born on July 29, 2004. At the time, my hobbies are writing random things, singing, dancing, playing badminton, and surfing network. I also love biking, traveling around our house, I love trying things that I have never tried before, and of course eating. In terms in writing random things, I always write things that instantly come up to my mind and I also love to write letters for my family, friends, and someone else who's attached on me. In singing, I always sing love songs and sad songs. While in dancing, I love to cover k-pop songs, especially songs of my favorite artists. But in line with those hobbies, all of it was based on my mood. I admit that I'm a moody time of person. In my internal self or my emotional aspects, I'm sensitive, jolly, happy to be with, strong, independent-in terms of handling my problems, sometimes negative thinker, but positive thinker more often. My sensitivity overwhelmed me when they talk about my feelings and my family, and I easily get hurt and crying only simple words that they yell at me. I always give advice to my friends whenever they open up with me. I was supporting, loving, encouraging, motivating, caring, and inspiring myself in order to pass the challenge that was given to me. It seems so weird, but it's really who am I.
